The Sunnyvale Membership utility is a tool designed to meet the needs of a seaside resort memberships' scheme needs. This tool allows the administration of the resort to administer season passes in the form of photo identification. Memberships can be inserted into a backend database for retrieval at a later date in addition to future marketing opportunities.

The development was tailored towards the use on a portable computer with an attached web camera, the specification stated the exclusive use of a Microsoft Life Cam, the solution offered allows the retrieval of the latest image found in a given directory.

This means essentially the images are retrieved from an image source as opposed to interfacing directly with a piece of hardware thus requiring no particular update for migration between hardware or more importantly in future portable computers/laptops.

The backend database chosen was Microsoft Access which allows cross compatiblitity with existing office tailored applications (Microsoft Word's Mail-Merge being a common example).
